Rush Poker At Full Tilt Poker

An interesting new style of poker is "Rush Poker". It seems to be quite popular

Here is how it works:

Unlike a standard ring game, when you play Rush Poker you’ll join a large player pool and face a different table of opponents every hand you play. When you fold your hand, you’ll immediately be moved to a new table for your next hand.

“Rush Poker is the greatest innovation in online poker since poker started on the Internet,” said Team Full Tilt member Chris Ferguson. “Rush Poker is an amazingly fast-paced game. You always have a decision to make; you’re never waiting for other players to finish the hand.”

Multitaqbling is

Now, the problem with this is that there's a new table everyhand with different players so you can't really get a read on your opponenets. Another problem is the blinds are all over the place, for example, one hand you may be under the gun, the next hand you may be cut-off position but I'm sure Full Tilt has made a system where you averge out the 1.5 blinds every round.

Cake Poker Buys T.J. Cloutier’s WSOP Bracelet On Ebay

T.J. Cloutier’s WSOP Bracelet
One of the team members at Cake Poker bought T.J. Cloutier 2005 World Series of Poker $5K No Limit Bracelet for $4006 on ebay. There were 8 bids on the bracelet, starting at $2999 and finishing at $4006. The Cake Poker member put an auto-bid on the item so it looks like they were willing to pay a lot more than $4000 for it. There is a post on Cake Poker Blog about Cake Poker buying the bracelet: Cake Poker Discovers the Joys of eBay. They do not directly say they bought the item but there are enough clues including the Tags on the post "Tags: ebay, wsop, tj cloutier".

T.J. Cloutier confirms the bracelet is indeed from his 2005 WSOP win. He told this to Hardcore Poker Show

“I don’t want to talk about it… Yeah its mine… I was short… I pawned it…. I tried to get it back with my ticket but i was too late”

I feel kind of sorry for Cloutier but he shouldn't be pawning his WSOP bracelet(s)..I just noticed this is on the auction page:

"Please see our other auctions for another one of Mr. Cloutier's Championship Bracelets!"

Screenshot of T.J. Cloutier’s WSOP Bracelet Ebay AuctionI wasn't able to find the other auction. Here is a link to the original 2005 World Series of Poker $5K No Limit Bracelet auction on Ebay. Note: The auction is private so you need an ebay account to view it. I took a screenshot of the auction(Image to the left)

Father Andrew Trapp Plays Million Dollar Cash Game

Fr. Andrew Trapp - Pokerstar's Million Dollar Cash Game
Father Andrew Trapp, also known as "Father Rambo" because of his love of paintball, played 3 headsup sit and gos on the Million Dollar Cash Game. First against a John Sally, retired NBA basketball player , actor and talk show host, then against Vanessa Rousso and finally against Daniel Negreanu. Fr. Andrew beat all 3 and won $100,000. He will use his winnings to help build a new church for the parishioners at St. Michael Catholic Church in Garden City, S.C.

Since Fr. Andrew won all 3 matches, he will play in a sit-n-go against other Million Dollar Challenge winners to see who will face Negreanu in the show's final round of play (for the $1 million) in December.

Poker is one of my hobbies. I play it with family and friends. It’s a way for people to come together, have fun and enjoy each other’s company. There’s no moral issue. Even if I didn’t win any money, it would be an opportunity for people across the country to see that there are still young men choosing to be priests, and that one can be joy-filled and have fun as one serves God.

Hellmuth, Negreanu, Nguyen and Harman Pose Nude For ESPN The Body Issue

ESPN is out with their new body Issue Magazine. In it, Daniel Negreanu, Phil Hellmuth, Scotty Nguyen and Jen Harman playing some cards, naked!

Hellmuth, Negreanu, Nguyen and Harman Pose Nude In ESPN The Body Issue

Its pretty funny that Negreanu is wearing his Pokerstars patch covering one of his nipples. I guess luckily for Harman she had a big chip stack covering hers.

Harman was a little nervous at first:

“I got a phone call from one of my friends at ESPN,” said Harman. “He said that it was going to be a good shot and that it would be done with a lot of class.”

So, Harman accepted. As did Kid Poker, the Poker Brat, and the Prince of Poker. Negreanu declined the photoshoot at first but later accepted:

“It’s not like they were going to have Patrik Antonius or Gus (Hansen) there,” said Negreanu. “I said, ‘I can fit in with this group.’”

Daniel said the shoot wasn't that bad:

“I worked out (beforehand). I had a nice tan going,” said Negreanu. “I sucked my belly in, and I was good to go.”

Boku87 $5 - $100,000 Challenge

Boku87 playing at the WSOP

Thomas "boku87" Boekhoff started his 2nd Pokerstar's Challenge. Earlier this year, Boku turned $100 into $10,000 in 14 days. This time he will attempt to turn $5 into $100,000 in 1 year. He started on July 15th and is currenly at $21,454.05. Lately he has been feeling sick and not playing very well.

Boku's Sharkscope Graph
Boku's Sharkscope Graph

Boku has already went broke, he lost the $5 because of high variance in the 0.10 SNGs. Boku grinded playmoney and wanted to sell it but Pokerstars doesn't really want to support selling play money chips so Pokerstars gave Boku another $5 stake. Many people believe he has lost the challenge and should have built up his bankroll playing freerolls like which was originally planned.

Nevertheless, many people still support Buku and you can read what they say in 2 Plus 2 forum
Boku87 Challenge #2. You can also Follow Boku87's challenge on Twitter and read Boku87's Pokerstars Blog.

Indian Man Gambles His Daughter Away

After losing all his money in a card game, Ismail Sheikh decided to keep playing and staked his 18-year-old daughter. Satyajit Bandhopadhyay, a senior police officer investigating the case reported:
"Ismail lost the game again and Mustafa walked away with the girl."
The incident occurred in the Indian village Satgharia. Village Locals said Ismail, who is in his late 30s, lost all his money to Mustafa Sheik from the neighbouring village of Sultanpur.

Panchayat member Saidur Rahaman said Ismail was “a known gambler...But this time he crossed all limits.” The panchayat and a group of people went to Sultanpur, the next day and brought back the girl home.

On hearing the story, Ismail’s angry father, Naimuddin, threw him out of the house. Ismail’s wife said she was worried about her daughter’s future. Malda police said they were investigating the incident.

Poker Pro Daniel Negreanu Accused of Being Racist?

There was a article written about Daniel Negreanu, calling him a racist for his thoughts about American TV-channel "Black Entertainment Network".

"Negreanu made some outrageous comments about the sensitive subject of race, comments that would have created a firestorm if Negreanu had any relevance outside the poker world"

Here is part of what Negreanu wrote:

"While I was playing a mixed 400/800 game, listened to music, and watched BET (black entertainment), it suddenly hit me. How on earth can a TV channel have this name?"

"I know that there are black artists standing for the entertainment in this show and that they are targeting black TV viewers. And of course there is nothing wrong in targeting a specific group of people. But is it really okay to call a channel for Blacks Entertainment Network?!"

"I watch the channel, and I hope that's no problem. It's just the thought if for example a guy in Alabama would start a TV-network and call it "White Entertainment Television/group". My Guess is that people would get really angry and upset then."

Daniel responds: "As for the article the guy wrote, I think he was brilliant. He threw out a big, eye-catching title like ‘Daniel Negreanu a racist?’ and it did wonders for the site. They got lots of hits. It’s a really low class move to try and increase traffic at your site that way, but hey, it really does work."

Nothing Negreanu said was racist and like he said, it was a mere publicity stunt to incrase traffic to their site.

One member on 2 Plus 2 Forum made a joke : Proof that Daniel Negreanu is not a racist and has lots of black friends.

Durrrr and Ziigmund Play $3,000-$9,000 PLO

Last week, Tom "Durrrr" Dwan and Ilari "Ziigmund" Sahamies were playing deep-stacked heads-up $500/1,000 PLO when Ziigmund proposed $3,000/9,000 "blinds" to Dwan. Dwan accepted to play for 10 hands but they played much longer.

Here is the conversation they had:

Ziigmund: lets make deal
Ziigmund: always have to raise and reraise
durrrr: what type?
durrrr: lol
Ziigmund: ok?
durrrr: ill do for 10hands ok?
Ziigmund: before flop
durrrr: next 10hands
Ziigmund: ok next 10 hands
durrrr: god
durrrr: lol
durrrr: so sick
Ziigmund: then u can do what u want
Ziigmund: rereraise
durrrr: ya obv
Ziigmund: or whatever
durrrr: ya
durrrr: 10 hands
Ziigmund: but raise and reraise before flop
durrrr: ya

They played some huge pots, 3 pots over $400k including one for over $577k! In the $577k pot, Durrrr flopped the nut straight where Ziigmund flopped the nut flush draw. Ziigmund hit his flush on the turn and collected the massive pot!

Another big pot was a $433k pots won by Durrrr. He flopped top set of queens against Ziigmund's massive straight draws. Ziigmund doesn't hit and Durrrr drags the pot. Here's a picture of the hand, Ziigmund isn't that far behind with his open ended plus double gut shot straight draws.

Durrrr flopped top set of queens against Ziigmund's massive straight draws
At the end of the session, Durrrr finished ahead of Ziigmund by only $160k. 2 days later, Sahamies wanted to play some more $3,000-$9,000 PLO! Dwan said it was too much at the moment but later accepted after winner a big pot.

The biggest hand they played was a $477,912 pot that Ziigmund won. Durrrr flopped a set but Ziigmund turned a straight. Durrrr did not hit his full house and Ziigmund collects the pot.

After the second session, Ziigmund won back his 160k from the first session and now they are tied for the $3,000-$9,000 stakes.

Session 3 coming up?
