Peter Eastgate wins 2008 WSOP


The 2008 WSOP has finally come to an end after months of waiting. The final heads up match between Peter Eastgate and Ivan Demidov did not last as long as many expected.
The final hand played out like this:

Eastgate limps on the button and Demidov checks.

The flop comes 2 K 3

Demidov Checks and Eastgate bets $1.25 Million and Demidov makes the call.

The turn comes 4

Eastgate bets $2 Million after a check from Demidov.

Demidov makes the raise to $6 Million and the Dane calls.

The river comes 7

Demidov goes all in and Eastgate instacalls.

Eastgate is showing A 5 for the straight.

Demidov shows 4 2 for two pair.

This makes the Danish player Peter Eastgate the winner of the 2008 WSOP winning over $9 Million.
