20 Million people is equivalent to everyone from New York, Chicago, and Los Angeles having an account on PokerStars. That is 1 in every 338 people in the world having a Pokerstars account according to The U.S. Census Bureau's World Population Estimate of 6,766,151,869. Now, I'm pretty sure many players have duplicate accounts and many are play money accounts too but 20 million is still a lot.

Pokerstar's growth really started to rise back in 2003 when Chris Moneymaker turned $40 into 2.5 million. You can buy Chris MoneyMakers book for $3.99 from Book Closeouts. The book is about Chris Moneymaker's life and his journey from $40 to $2.5 million. He also talks about key hands he played.

In addition to Moneymaker, Team PokerStars Pro also includes 2004 WSOP Main Event Champion Greg Raymer and 2005 WSOP Main Event Champion Joe Hachem. Barry Greenstein and Daniel Negreanu represent the online poker site at a bevy of live poker tournaments. Its flagship female player, Vanessa Rousso, recently appeared in the 2009 Swimsuit Edition of Sports Illustrated and was just named the newest Go Daddy Girl, joining Danica Patrick and Candice Michelle. Team PokerStars Pro also features renowned female players Isabelle Mercier and Katja Thater. Other card-carrying players include Bertrand "Elky" Grospellier, Humberto Brenes, Lee Nelson, Victor Ramdin, and Hevad Khan. Two members of the inaugural WSOP November Nine, the players at the final table of the 2008 WSOP Main Event, have also joined the site's ranks: Ylon Schwartz and Dennis Phillips.
